Not an attack on media: Kiran
Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy on Wednesday said the freezing of the Sakshi Publications’ accounts should not be taken as an attempt to attack the media. “We have taken action against a company that committed irregularities. I request the media not to twist the issue. The CBI is looking into the matter and the agency would take appropriate action against those responsible,” he said.
The CM, attempting to tread a thin line, praised YSR while coming down heavily on the former CM’s son at a meeting of party activists in Payaraopeta. He said, “YSR was loyal to the party. After elections in 2009, he requested the party leaders during the CLP meet that one should not go against the party even if the high command proposes someone else for the CM’s chair. YSR admitted that he had committed a mistake (rebelling against the Congress) and urged others not to make the same mistake. He made the comments in the presence of Jagan, anticipating the present situation.” The CM said, “Jagan launched the party only for the sake of power. He is the son of a strong follower of the Congress but has alig-ned with people like N. Chandrababu Naidu and K. Chandrasekhar Rao.”
