Nothing wrong with 2 states: Botsa
PCC president Botsa Satyanarayana asserted on Saturday that there was nothing wrong with having two Telugu-speaking states. Addressing the media in Delhi, the PCC chief said he did not see anything wrong with the statement of TRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao that Telangana state was attainable within the next two months.
“I have been urging the party high command to take a decision on the contentious Telangana issue at the earliest. The state and the people are very concerned over the issue and everyone feels it is high time the Centre announced its decision on the matter,” he said. The PCC chief denied any understanding with the YSR Congress over the latter’s support to UPA-sponsored Presidential candidate Pranab Mukherjee. “You cannot draw an inference that there was ‘match-fixing’ between Congress and YSR Congress. On the contrary, we oppose the YSR Congress tooth and nail for having detached itself from the Congress party, they will continues to be our main political enemy in the state,” Mr Satyanarayana said.
He demanded that the YSR Congress leaders explain their contradictory statements. First they’d said the Congress had instigated the CBI investigation against their leader Jagan and now they had backed down and begun saying the Congress was not responsible.
