NRI doc protests near hubby’s home

Refusing to be divorced, an NRI doctor staged a protest in front of the locked house of her in-laws here on Saturday, with a resolve that she would locate her husband, who is absconding. Dr Yamini, an Australian citizen now based in Chennai, stood outside the locked house in SBI Colony, Gandhi Nagar, for hours along with her infant son. Dr Yamini’s husband, Mr Karthik, filed for divorce in Chennai, but the court ordered him to live with his wife. According to Ms Yamini, finding her husband’s response not positive, she came to the city but found the house locked. She alleged that her in-laws harassed her for dowry, and also tried to make her sell the property in Australia and move to Hyderabad.
