Order spells trouble for Botsa, Mopidevi
The orders passed by the AP High Court in the liquor case has made top politicians, including ministers and MLAs, jittery, as it allows the investigating agency to dig deep to find the masterminds.
PCC president and transport minister Botsa Satyanarayana, excise minister Mopidevi Venkataramana and several other politicians are now in troubled waters as the High Court monitoring of the case will make it difficult for those involved to escape.
On the political front, too, the court order has wide ramifications and Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy had the last laugh. Mr Venkataramana has been named by the Anti-Corruption Bureau that is investigating the case, for accepting bribes from the liquor syndicates. Relatives of Mr Satyanarayana are named in the FIR of the Vizianagaram liquor syndicates.
