Organisers reject plea on immersion
The police has appealed to the organisers to start processions early so that the lengthy immersion process is completed by midnight since the T-March the next day will also be around the lake. But the Nimajjanam is likely to continue up to Sunday afternoon.
While Khairatabad Ganesh Utsav Samiti has agreed to move its mammoth idol by 6 pm instead of midnight, the Balapur Ganesh organisers and Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samiti have rejected the request stating they will not change their tradition.
The Balapur Ganesh idol will start moving towards Hussainsagar only after the auction of laddus to be held between 9 am and 11 am.
The police has now decided to disassociate the Ganesh processions of the old city from the centralised procession of Balapur Ganesh.
They will move the Ganesh idols from the South Zone from 9 am onwards, and ensure that the front of the procession crosses Nayapul by 11.30.
