Paritala family gets CID clean chit
The Crime Investigation Department has given a clean chit to former minister Paritala Ravindra's family and its private army in the killing of Maddalacheuruvi Suri, though were allegations that they were involved. The allegations were that Suri was killed in retaliation of the murder of Paritala Ravindra by his gang.
“The probe didn't find any involvement of MLA Paritala Sunita or Ravindra's associates like Chaman and Pothula Suresh in Suri's murder. Bhanu (who was arrested for Suri’s murder) didn’t act on the behest of any politician to kill Suri. Bhanu carried out the murder fearing that he would himself be killed,” (by Suri),” said CID chief S.V. Ramana Murthy.
The CID is yet to look into the series of killi-ngs of those accused in Paritala Ravindra’s murder. In April 2011, Anantapur police arrested MLA Paritala Sunita’s brother, D. Balaji, and 10 others, for the murder of T. Konda Reddy, an accused in the Paritala Ravi murder case.
He was shot dead by unidentified persons at his residence in Sain-agar in Anantapur on February 22, 2011. He was also accused in the murder of Paritala's aide, Tagarakunta Prabhakar, six years ago. Prabhakar’s son Ramanjaenulu allegedly took the help of Balaji, who allegedly financed the murder and also gave shelter to the attackers in Karnataka. Police found that Balaji had links with Nagoor Hussain of the Reorganisation Committee, the private army of Paritala, which had hatched a plot to eliminate Paritala's rivals.
