Pavan-inspired spoof on graft goes viral

A political spoof of the anthakshari scene of the recently released Telugu film Gabbar Singh is taking off on Youtube. Titled Public King, it ridicules political leaders, who appear on TV every day, for the state of affairs. The video that was posted on May 23 by Amrutha Productions had 36,619 views by Saturday evening. In the film, Pavan Kalyan gathers the flunkies of the villain and plays anthakshari with them. In the spoof, ‘Public King’, ‘brings in’ political leaders like Botsa Satyanarayna, Kiran Kumar Reddy, K. Chandrasekar Rao, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, Chandrababu Naidu, Chiranjeevi, Ambati Rambabu, B.V. Raghavulu, K. Narayana and Gali Janardhan Reddy and makes fun of them by asking them to sing songs parodying themselves.

The characters wear masks featuring the faces of political leaders. Even CBI joint director V.V. Lakshminarayana appears in between, and tells Jagan that his days are numbered. ‘Botsa’ is required to sing a song related to liquor. The video was made by pawanfans.com. Pulicherla says it is an attempt at humour and not meant to hurt anyone.
