PCC chief: State must apologise
PCC president Botsa Satyanarayana on Monday sought an apology from the government to the people of the state for erratic power supply. He attributed this to the reduction of gas allocation to state projects. Addressing a media conference at Gandhi Bhavan, the PCC president said this was the cumulative result of the negligence of successive state governments. He felt the earlier TD and Congress administrations had lacked vision in the area of power generation. He demanded that the Centre evolve state-wide plans for power.
Deploring the growing gap between demand and supply, Mr Satyanarayana said the recent decision of the Central government to divert 400 MW of gas power to the Ratnagiri plant in Maharashtra was a big blow to the state. Replying to a specific question, the PCC president said Union petroleum and natural gas minister Jaipal Reddy had played no role in the gas diversion episode.
Meanwhile, in another development, former state Youth Congress president P.J. Sudhakar Babu met the PCC chief and complained about a coterie of Congress ministers, MPs and legislators whom he claimed were working covertly as agents for YSR Congress chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Speaking to newsmen after meeting Mr Satyanarayana, Mr Sudhakara Babu confirmed that he had complained about seven ministers and a few MLAs and MLCs.
