Police traces abducted girl
Police on Tuesday traced the five-year-old girl, Akshita, who was abducted from Mallikarjuna Nagar, Amberpet, on Monday morning. Akshita, a UKG student at Rose Buds High School, Mallikarjuna Nagar, was abducted by an unidentified woman, while she was playing outside her home with friends.
At around 10.30 am on Monday, the girl was playing with her brother Udaya Prakash and other two kids from the locality, outside their house, when a woman in green saree came to them. She gave chocolate to Akshita and took her away.
After the search for their daughter in the locality turned futile, Akshita’s parents — Mamatha and S. Rama Krishna, a private school bus driver — lodged a complaint with Amberpet police. On Tuesday, at around 4.30 pm, Saroornagar police found the girl near Venkatadhri theatre at Dilsukhnagar and informed the Amberpet police. Later, Amberpet police, along with the parents, received the girl from Saroornagar police. However, Amberpet inspector A. Srinivas said they don’t have any clue about the woman who abducted the girl and that the investigation is in progress. Meanwhile, Akshita is reported to have told her family that one “aunty” took her after giving her chocolate. She was given food and snacks on Monday morning, but when her photo appeared in news channels in the afternoon, the woman left her near the theatre.
