Post-mortem conducted on ou campus
A large crowd of students and Telangana activists gathered at the spot, and tried to take out a rally to Secunderabad Telangana Martyrs Memorial near the Clock Tower with Santosh’s body. Police stopped them at the OU police station gate, using stun grenades and teargas shells in the process.
East Zone DCP Y. Ganga-dhar said the protesters attacked police and private vehicles. “The mob also tried to set fire to two vehicles at M.K. Nagar. Howe-ver, the police foiled their attempt,” the DCP said.
Though cops allowed to take the body to the memorial, activists clashed with them for a while.
Earlier, the post-mortem was conducted inside the campus.
Santosh Kumar was a native of Kuchulapur village in Talamadugu mandal in Adilabad. His friend T. Srihari said they had gone to a Nampally college to meet their friends on Tuesday night. “We were discussing the Telangana struggle and other issues till 9 pm in a hostel room; I left the place to meet one of my friends. After that, we couldn’t find him. Then we found the body,” he said.
