‘Psycho killer’ says it was an act of revenge
The sensational murder of three sleeping passengers on an RTC bus bound for Chennai on July 26 has been solved with the police apprehending the killer. The “psycho killer” has been identified as Donaboina Srinivasa Rao, 33, from P. Gannavaram village in East Godavari district. He confessed to having killed the sleeping passengers to take revenge on Tada police sub-inspector V. Srinivasulu Reddy. The murders had been committed near Tada, close to the AP-Tamil Nadu border.
Nellore superintendent of police B.V. Ramana Kumar said the killer had wanted to get back at the SI who had arrested him in 2010 for molesting a woman at Man-ubolu, 30 km from Nellore. Police has recovered the knife used for the murders besides seven ATM cards, five SIM cards and three cellphones from him. In one of the books found in his possession, Srinivasa Rao noted that an SI should allow the accused to contact his relatives after the arrest. Later, he struck off the lines which the SP showed to mediapersons.
