Purandeswari gets it for spilling the beans

In spite of announcing on Saturday that the Prime Minister had informed her about her “promotion”, Union minister of state Daggubati Purandeswari’s name was missing from the Cabinet reshuffle list on Sunday.

Purandeswari had said that Dr Manmohan Singh had called her up and had informed about her promotion including a change of portfolio from the present human resources development to commerce and industry. However, it became evident on Sunday that she would be confined to being a minister of state but with a change of portfolio to the commerce ministry under Anand Sharma.

One of the reasons for not promoting her might be the fact that Purandeswari had gone public and announced her impending promotion on Saturday morning in Visakhapatnam and the same was aired on some national news channels.
