Quash G.O. on probe, says IMG Bharata
IMG Academies Bharata Pvt Ltd has moved the AP High Court seeking quashing of a GO issued according consent to conduct probe into transactions entered into between the state government and IMG Academies Bhar-ata during N. Chandr-ababu Naidu’s regime. The company, represented by its director P. Ahobala Rao alias Billy Rao, challenged the GO dated Dec 13, 2006 issued by YSR-led Congress government.
Mr Naidu had allotted 850 acres of land at Gachibowli to IMG Bharata at `50,000 per acre when he was officiating as caretaker Chief Minister in Feb. 2004. The petitioner contended that issuance of GO was nothing but political vendetta agai-nst the TD which was heading the government at the time. He said that due to change in government, a lot of criticism was targeted at the policies and acts of the outgoing government and an exercise was taken up to reverse all major decisions taken by it.
As part of it, an ordinance was promulgated in the year 2006 to annul the MoU/sale deed rela-ting to IMG Bharata. He said the petition challenging the ordinance’s validity was pending before the court.
It may be mentioned that T. Sriranga Rao, an advocate, V. Vijay Sai Reddy, auditor of Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, and veteran journalist A.B.K. Prasad filed two PILs before the High Court.
