RAF defies Newton’s law: Guv
The Governor, Mr E.S.L. Narasimhan, praised the Rapid Action Force (RAF) to the skies during the 20th anniversary celebrations of the force at Hakimpet on Sunday. “Newton’s law of gravity is not applicable to the Rapid Action Force and other security forces in our country, because once they rise to the height of greatness, they are bound to rise higher,” he said.
“Nowadays, since our society is well aware of its rights, and when people come out to streets to protest, we need highly sensitive policing to keep the peace. And RAF is capable of doing so,” he added. Mr Narasimhan was the chief guest at the programme held at RAF 99 battalion parade ground. RAF director Pranay Sahay welcomed the guests. Delivering his speech on the occasion, the Governor showed appreciation for RAF officers and their personnel for their hard work, the capability to deal with riot like situations, and the efficiency to assist civil administration in extending relief and rehabilitation during natural calamities. “The force, which works without any holidays, has an important role in maintaining peace in our country,” he said.
