Ramudu is new DG for Greyhounds

A correction GO was issued stating that “D. Boobathi Babu, the additional DG of police of ACB, holding full additional charge of the post of DG, ACB, was relieved”. This means Mr Boobathi Babu will continue to work in the ACB, but under B. Prasada Rao, former APSRTC vice-chairman and managing director.

This is being seen as a cautious move of the government as the AP High court is monitoring the liquor scam probe and has taken serious note of the transfer of ACB joint director K. Srinivas Reddy. Asked about the liquor scam probe, Mr Rao said, “I will act professionally. I will analyse the files after taking charge. I worked in the ACB for five years before and it is a good department.”

Among the other transfers, additional DG (law and order) S.A. Huda, has been promoted to the rank of DG and posted as DG (law and order). A temporary post in the DGP grade has been added for this. Special Protection Force director general T.P. Das has been posted as DG of prisons. Mr Vivek Dube, who was holding additional charge of prisons has been relieved.

APSP additional DG Aruna M. Bahuguna has been promoted to DG rank and posted as chairperson of the AP State Police Housing Corporation Ltd. Lokendra Sharma, who is on leave, has been posted as DG, SPF. Additional DG, home guards, Madanlal has been posted as MD, AP State Police Housing Corporation. Additional DG J.V. Ramudu has been posted as Greyhounds director general.

Anurag Sharma has been shifted out from the Greyhounds to the Hyderabad police as commissioner. Damodar Goutham Sawang, who was waiting for posting on his return from UN deputation, has been promoted to the rank of additional DG and posted to the AP Special Police. MBT corporator Amjedullah Khan welcomed the transfer of A.K. Khan, alleging that he was supporting the MIM.
