Reports of inadequate and dirty water supply pour in
Complaints of inadequate and contaminated water supply, leaking pipelines and billing errors are pouring in from areas like Banjara Hills, Goshamahal, Moula Ali, Malakpet, Panjagutta, Addagutta, Kapra and Upperpally. Water Board managing director Adhar Sinha, who personally received several such complaints during the “Dial Your MD” programme and while interacting with consumers during inspection visits, on Monday directed all chief general managers and other officials to give top priority in attending to complaints of water pollution, leakages and short supplies due to power cuts.
Many consumers have also registered complaints regarding polluted water at the Metro Customer Care centre of the Water Board. Mr Sinha conducted a teleconference on Monday to get first-hand knowledge on the kind of complaints being received by chief general managers and general managers during the Prajavani programme at each division office. Special officers have been nominated to monitor water supply during summer, he added.
Mr Sinha stressed on the need to maintain proper pressure and water supply timings as well. Mr Sinha also inspected Shaikpet and Toli Chowki areas and interacted with citizens to know the status of water supply which had been affected due to repair works taken up by Central Discom and Water Board few days ago.
