Rs 15,000 seized from Gali’s relative in jail

As the ACB is proceeding with the investigation of the cash-for-bail scam of mining baron Gali Janardhan Reddy, a shocking incident has come to light with the Cherlapally central prison authorities seizing Rs 15,000 in cash from Gali Janardhan Reddy’s brother, Gali Somashekar Reddy.

Gali Somashekar Reddy was arrested by the ACB on August 6 for his alleged role in the cash-for-bail scam. He was sent to Cherlapally prison under judicial custody by the ACB court and was lodged at the Manasa barracks. On Thursday, the jail authorities found Rs 15,000 in cash with Gali Somashekar Reddy. It is understood that the authorities also found two mobile phones with him. Jail authorities confirmed that they had seized Rs 15,000 in cash from Bellary MLA Somashekar Reddy.

He is lodged along with Kampli MLA Suresh Babu. The ACB alleged that they plotted the deal to bribe the judge to grant bail to Gali Janardhan Reddy.
