Rules tightened for CoP-11 cops
As the Cyberabad police finished preparations for providing food and accommodation for the force being deployed for CoP-11, the brass has taken steps to ensure discipline among the cops staying at the venue. In a memo issued by Cyberabad higher officials for all Station House Officers in the Madhapur Zone, police personnel were strictly instructed to avoid consumption of alcohol and the playing of cards at the temporary accommodation at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) complex and other shelters in Madhapur. The men were also instructed not to smoke and spit inside the function halls.
“If anybody is found violating instructions, they would be reported to higher authorities, and stringent action would be taken against them,” said Kukatpally Assistant Commissioner of Police Malla Reddy, who is the in- charge of food and accommodation at the venue. Apart from ensuring discipline, the cops were also instructed to ensure cleanliness at the function halls and other places they are deployed.
“In co-operation with GHMC officials, the policemen would make sure everything is clean and neat. Display sign boards at the dining halls and toilets, and drums for drinking water at the function halls would be looked after by the cops,” Mr Malla Reddy said. According to the Cyberabad police, around 5,000 police personnel are going to stay in the temporary accommodation built at the HICC complex and various other places under Madapur police station limits.
Higher officials have instructed the concerned in-charge officers to ensure that all basic facilities like food, fire safety, electricity, laundry service, transportation, and medical arrangements are available at these temporary shelters.
