Experts from the Andhra Pradesh Forensic Science Laboratory, who examined the Tamil Nadu Express where the fire broke out on Monday, have ruled out sabotage. Some passengers had said they heard a big sound before the fire broke out, but the forensic experts found no remnants of explosives or any blast marks in the S11 coach.

APFSL director O.N. Murthy said, “There are no explosion marks in the compartment. Our experts did not find any suspicious material or object so far. So far, our probe says there is no sabotage.” Twenty-eight persons were killed in the fire that broke out in the train early on Monday close to Nellore railway station. Speaking to mediapersons after the examination of the compartment, scientists Venkateswarulu and Gopinath said that they are eliminating the explosion angle. Responding to a question, they said that they have collected samples for chemical analysis and expect more clues from the burnt coach.

More clues may lie in burnt compartment
Though 24 hours have passed, the charred compartment S11 of Tamil Nadu Express has not been washed yet, so there may be clues to the origin of the fire. Scientists Venkateswar Lu and Gopinath said they will examine the fire pattern, electrical and battery connections and wiring thoroughly before arriving at any conclusion.

A senior police officer who was associated with the rescue operations also ruled out the possibility of sabotage. “In case of sabotage, those behind it would have chosen an inaccessible place instead of the heart of Nellore town. The causalities would have been very heavy if the accident had taken place in an isolated and remote place. It is clearly an accident,” said the police officer.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.
