Speed up work on proposals, officials told
The state government has initiated steps to speed up the projects for which the proposals were received during the Partnership Summit-2012, held in January this year. Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy reviewed the status of projects proposed during the summit with the ministers and officials concerned at Secretariat on Saturday. “Think twice where land acquisition is involved for taking up these projects. Public interest should be also of utmost important to the government simultaneously with the industrial development,” Mr Reddy advised officials.
As many as 243 investments proposals for establishing 265 units were received during the summit. The MoUs pertaining to total investments worth Rs 6,49,432 crore with emplo-yment potential of 6,78,597 were signed by the government in the summit. Region-wise proposals were: Telangana — 63 proposals for 75 units, investment of Rs 1,37,094 crore (21 per cent) and employment potential of 2,98,813 (44 per cent); Rayalaseema — 79 proposals for 85 units, investment Rs 1,00,340 crore (15 per cent), employment potential of 1,30,896 (19 per cent); Andhra areas — 101 proposals for 105 units, investment of Rs 4,11,996 crore (63 per cent), employment potential of 2,48,888 (37 per cent).
Of proposals relating to the industries department, production has commenced in 4 projects, while 91 were under various stages of implementation and 20 were in initial stages. The CM wanted to know from the officials the status of the projects and problems in grounding them and asked the officials to help the investors and industrialists to establish their units here. He offered all help from state government’s side.
