State told to explain bids on Polavaram
The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Tuesday made it clear that government could go ahead with evaluation of price bids to shortlist tenders for the Polavaram project only after communicating to the unsuccessful bidders the reasons for their disqualification.
While disposing petitions by CGS-Gammon-AMR, Madhucon-Sinohydro and the Transstroy-JSC challenging the tender process, Justice C.V. Nagarjuna Reddy stated that the government could evaluate the price bid and finalise the tenders for the project after taking a final decision on technical bids and informing the bidders the reasons for rejection. CGS-Gammon-AMR had filed the petition on technical grounds while the Madhucon-Sinohydro had filed in respect of the price bid.
