Suicides not the answer, says Congress

Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy on Sunday appealed to the Telangana youth not to sacrifice their lives in fit of anxiety but live with self confidence. Reacting to the self immolation by an MBA student Bojya Naik in Warangal, the Chief Minister said in a statement that suicides would never be a solution to the formation of a separate Telangana state.

Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy said that the Centre was fully aware of the sentiments of the people of the region and would take a decision acceptable to the people of all three the regions at an appropriate time. He expressed grief over Naik’s death and conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family members. Congress MPs S. Rajaiah and Balaram Naik also appealed to the youth of Telangana not to resort to suicides. The MPs said that the spate of suicides at least should change the minds of a few integrationists who conspired to stop the division of the state.
