T-congress MPs to boycott house
Congress MPs from the Telangana have decided to boycott the Lok Sabha proceedings on Monday. The eight Congress MPs, who were suspended from the Lok Sabha for four days for constantly disrupting the House, were to be allowed back on Monday. They had originally decided to continue to disrupt the proceedings on Monday, but in view of the Congress central leadership’s strong disapproval, they seem to have had second thoughts.
The MPs met at the residence of Pedapalli MP G. Vivek on Sunday and debated whether to continue the disruption or boycott the house. Some of them were of the view that rather than facing the ire of the Congress leadership by disrupting the House yet again, they should simply stay away for a day and then review the situation. Other MPs asked that when the TRS MPs were to disrupt the House, how could they keep away. Meanwhile, Rajya Sabha member Palvai Govardhana Reddy lashed out at the eight suspended members. “The Congress president is very serious about the MPs’ behaviour. She is very upset and dissatisfied. This is not the way to fight for Telangana,” he said.
