T-ministers rebuff CM
Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, in Krishna district as part of Indiramma Baata, spoke on Wednesday to senior ministers from Telangana region and asked them to ensure TJAC postponed the September 30 march.
Mr Reddy telephonically contacted Deputy CM D. Raja Narasimha, senior ministers K. Jana Reddy, J. Geetha Reddy and former MP K. Kesava Rao and sought their intervention in the matter. But by the end of the day, their response was not that satisfactory.
Now the CM is expected to meet all the T-ministers on Thursday to take stock of the situation. “We will speak to the CM on his return to the city and discuss the march before deciding on follow-up action,” Mr Jana Reddy said. He added that at this stage he was not prepared to talk to TJAC leaders, and would do so only after he meets the CM.
Dr Kesava Rao refused to mediate on the issue. He said, “The CM requested me to use my good offices to talk to TJAC leaders and convince them to postpone the march to any day after October 20. I told him I cannot mediate on this matter. In fact, I asked all T-Cong-ress leaders to participate in the march.”
