Task Force busts gang of dacoits
Just a day after a 7-member dacoit gang was arrested, the Commissioner’s Task Force, North Zone team on Tuesday busted another gang of dacoits by arresting five members, and seized a motorcycle, liquid chloroform, five cell phones and other incriminating materials. Police said the gang had conspired to raid a house at Yousufguda, Hyderabad and other members of the gang are still absconding.
The accused are Katam Bhasker, 41, from Janagaon, Warangal Dist, Putta Kishore, 33, from Moosram-bagh, Kurmapu Venkat Ramana, 27, from Rahamath Nagar, Yousufguda, Kandula Singa Reddy, 42, from Mokanpally village, Navipet mandal, Nizamabad, and Nookala Venkat Reddy, 34, from Ramachandrapuram, Gadepalli mandal, Nalgonda, police said. Babu from Toopran and Rammurthy from Kothapet are absconding. Police Inspector L. Raja Venkat Reddy of the Commissioner's Task Force, North Zone, said the police got the hint about the gang from another gang, which was busted on Monday.
“They had planned to loot the house of businessman P. Satyanarayana, since he refused to extend financial aid to one of the accused, Venkat Ramana, when he was approached,” Mr Venkat Reddy said. As per the plan Kishore, Babu and Singi Reddy would enter the house. Rammurthy would wait in car. Kishore and Venkat Reddy would keep a watch outside. They planned to use use chloroform to make the inmates unconscious. After the looting they pla-nned to go to their friends' room at L.B.Nagar, police said. Police said the gang already tried to enter the house twice a month ago, but failed. The accused, along with the seized property, are being handed over to Jubilee Hills Police Station for further investigation.
