Task Force cops under scanner
Task Forces, the special teams of city police and excise department are under the scanner of Anti Corruption Bureau following bribe allegations.
City Task Force sleuths, the striking force of city police that works against terror and goons, are facing serious allegations of corruption. Their names have cropped up in the liquor scam now.
Liqour don B. Balraj Goud, who was arrested by the ACB, revealed that he used to pay mamools to City Task Force sleuths, Special Task Force of excise and enforcement departments.
The ACB, referring to the confession of Balraj Goud, stated that there were five entries in the liquor syndicate records pertaining to payment of mamools to Special Task Force at Secunderabad. The ACB said a cop named Uma Mahesh used to collect the bribe amount.
There were 45 entries pertaining to payment of mamools to City Task Force, which was being collected by one constable named Rasheed. Even the Blue colts and patrolling mobiles that make the wine shops to close on time are also being paid by the liquor syndicates.
A senior police official of state police headquarters said, “The Task Force police department has to be revamped. There are serious allegations against them.”
