TD MLA suspended for meeting Jagan in prison
The Telugu Desam on Tuesday suspended Praveen Kumar Reddy, its MLA from Tamballapalli constituency in Chittoor, for “anti-party activities”.
The MLA met YSR Congress president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy in the Chanchalguda jail.
As a policy, the TD has decided to suspend any legislator or leader who meets Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy or his mother Y.S. Vijayalakshmi. The party has already suspended Gudivada MLA Kodali Nani from the party.
Mr Praveen Kumar Reddy and Punganur MLA Amarnadha Reddy are believed to be inclined to join the YSR Congress.
The modus operandi adopted by Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy in jail is to identify leaders from particular constituencies and send feelers to them to meet him. After the meeting, their names are clea-red and the MLA annou-nces joining the YSRC.
Later, they are admitted to the party at a public meeting in the presence of Ms Vijayalakshmi. This orchestrated move keeps the party activity alive and creates an impression that leaders from other parties are joining him.
