Techie ends life as lover ‘cheats’ her
A techie committed suicide at SR Nagar early on Tuesday as her lover allegedly cheated her by breaking a marriage promise, police said. Twenty-seven-year-old T. Vishalini, a resident of Hindinagar, Goshamahal hanged herself to death in her lover’s office at Balkampet. On a complaint lodged by the deceased’s brother, SR Nagar police booked a case against the man, G. Manikanta, 28, and native of East Godavari district. He is charged under provisions of the Dalit Atrocity (Prevention) Act, and of cheating.
Vishalini and Manikanta fell in love three years ago when they were working in Genpact as software engineers. “Though Manikanta promised to marry her, he broke the promise. A depressed Vishalini hanged herself in his office,” said assistant commissioner of police at Punjagutta, Subbi Rami Reddy. Police said Manikanta had started a software company at Balkampet a year ago after resigning from Genpact. “Vishalini used to visit him in his office frequently. Five days ago, Manikanta had shifted his office to Begumpet. On Monday, she went to the office building when no one was present there, and hanged herself,” police said. Punjagutta ACP Subbi Rami Reddy said the accused would be arrested in a day.
