TRS to oppose Sharmila's padayatra in Telangana

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi on Sunday reiterated that it would not allow YSR Congress leader Sharmila to conduct her "Maro Praja Prasthanam" padayatra before her party clarifies its stand on the Telangana issue.

Talking to reporters after holding a meeting with TRS leaders here, TRS deputy floor leader T Harish Rao said that YSRCP president Jagan Mohan Reddy would be meted out with same treatment as it was given to TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu if he fails to clarify his stand on the separate Statehood issue.

Stating that supporting Jagan was like supporting corruption, Harish Rao asked Sharmila to explain as to why her brother was arrested. He said while Sharmila was promising Rajanna and Jaganna rule, she never explained as to why Jagan went jail. Alleging that Jagan was indulging in horse-trading, however, he said that Jagan would never be able to purchase the self-respect of the people of Telangana region.
