TSR’s nature to help all: Mohan
Actor Mohan Babu on Sunday advised the people to keep away from caste system while blaming politicians for creating a rift between the people of different castes. He was speaking at a colourful function organised to honour him with the title ‘Natavachaspathi’, by TSR Kala Parishath in Nellore on Sunday. Mohan Babu has urged people of Nellore to encourage Mr Subbarami Reddy for the benefit of the district. “It is part of the veteran Congress leader’s culture to help everyone,” the actor said.
He recalled how Mr Subbarami Reddy had cleared problems with the Censor Board for an NTR film, even though both were from different parties. Mohan Babu added that Mr Subbarami Reddy was instrumental in sanctioning Rs 1 crore by a bank for his educational institutes when he was finding it difficult to obtain bank loans. The actor said that his wife belongs to Naydupeta in Nellore district while referring to his bond with the district.
Thespian Akkineni Nageswar Rao also said that he was indebted to the district since he was introduced to films by Ghantasala Balaramaiah, who belonged to Nellore. ANR said that he was witness to the growth of Mr Subbarami Reddy ever since he won gold medal from former PM Indira Gandhi for executing the Nagarjunasagar dam work.
He wished Mr Subbarami Reddy a long life and expected him to continue his service to arts. “He is a hero of heroes, he is doing something which film heroes do only onscreen,” ANR said. In a lighter vein, he urged the other speakers to avoid mentioning his age. “I don't want to feel old,” ANR said.
