Two ‘bleach’ to death in Hyderabad
Two workers of Swarna Jyothi Agro & Exports Limited died of suffocation while cleaning a bleacher reactor on Thursday in Pashamailaram Industrial Area in Medak.
“The firm was shut for more than six months so we had to clean the plant to restart work,” said manager Mr Mohanty.
Maintenance manager Nagendra Sahu, 25, along with worker Govardhan Goud, 42, were cleaning the bleacher reactor which is 10 to 15 feet deep and has a capacity of 10 metric tonne.
Govardhan fell into the reactor at around 12.30 pm and Nagendra went down to save him. Both got stuck there and died of suffocation, the police said.
A case under IPC section 304 ‘A’ has been against the management.
