Umesh let off on bond after he surrenders
After suspended IPS officer Umesh Kumar surrendered before the chief metropolitan magistrate at Nampally court on Wednesday, he was let off on a personal bond of Rs 10,000. The court also allowed the non-bailable warrant recall petition that was filed by him earlier.
Last week, following the NBW issued against Mr Kumar by CMM on June 14, the CID sleuths rushed to his residence to arrest him, only to find that Mr Kumar had given them the slip. The CID submitted a report to the court declaring that Mr Kumar was absconding. The IPS officer had then approached the High Court and obtained relief, with the court staying the NBW and directing him to appear before the CMM before June 25. The matter has been posted for hearing on Thursday.
