‘We have clear orders’
Stringent provisions of the law will be invoked against the T-agitators if they reso-rted to violence, Dire-ctor General of Police V. Dinesh Reddy war-ned here on Friday.
The top cop said hidden cameras have been installed almost everywhere in the city to keep a close watch on the streets and the protestors.
“Nothing would go unnoticed,” he told the media, adding that the police department had advised the government not to grant permission for the Telangana march on the Tank Bund.
“If the Tank Bund is blocked, we will consider it as a rasta roko, an action that will be violative of Supreme Court orders.
I appeal to the agitators not to come to Hyderabad, and postpone the march. We can’t allow a political crowd to mix up with the religious crowd,” he said.
The DGP said there were no specific inputs on attacks on Seemandhra properties.
“The Chief Minister had given me clear instructions,” he said.
decision on T will take time: Congress to KCR
TRS chief K. Chandras-ekhar Rao, who has been camping in Delhi for the last three weeks, is beli-eved to have asked for a statement from the Cen-tre that would signal a positive outcome for the formation of Telangana state, and also a road map for how it would be achieved.
But Congress leaders Oscar Fernandez and Vayalar Ravi reportedly told him that this would take some time. When Mr Rao pressed his demand, Mr Fernandez promised that he will bring the matter to the notice of Congress president Sonia Gandhi in due course.
“We cannot expect any favourable statement on Telangana right now. It will take some time. Mr Rao was briefed about this,” senior Congress leader Palvai Govardhan Reddy said.
He said problems like the Trinamul walking out of the UPA, troubles in Maharashtra and the impending Union Cabi-net reshuffle would be accorded priority, after which the Congress chief will look into the issue.
