Youth congress chief Vamsi’s election upheld
The central election authority of the Youth Congress has held the election of Challa Vamsi Chand Reddy as president of the party’s AP unit as valid.
Returning officers for the state Youth Congress elections, Jaishankar Pathak and M. Christopher, released the note which said that the election authority had gone through the two complaints received against Mr Vamsi Reddy and runner-up Ravi Kumar Yadav (son of Serilingampally Con-gress MLA B. Yadav).
Nothing illegal in Vamsi's election: FAME
The central election authority of the Youth Congress arrived at its decisions in relation to the YC polls in AP after examining the report presented by independent agency, FAME (Foundation for Advanced Management of Elections), which audits the IYC elections process.
Mr Vamsi Chand Reddy, whose election has been upheld, won the poll on July 14 by securing 13,700 of the 31,675 votes. Ravi Yadav was third with 6,167 votes, and Anil Kumar Yadav, fourth, won 6,326.
Speaking from Delhi, Mr K.J. Rao of FAME, a former EC observer, said, “We found nothing illegal in the case of Vamsi Chand Reddy. He will be president of the state YC and Ravi Kumar Yadav the vice-president after completing his 3-month suspe-nsion period in October.”
