Youth dies for T-state, records suicide note
Thyapala Yadagiri, 22, a resident of Railapur in Medchal, committed suicide for the creation of Telangana on Wednesday. This is the third suicide for a separate state after the bypoll results were announced on March 21. The youth hanged himself from a tree near the National Highway at Imamapur in Toopran of Medak district.
According to Toopran inspector of police M. Ravinder Reddy, the youth recorded his ‘suicide note’ on his mobile phone. Police found a cigarette pack in which it was written “phonelo record chesanu (I have recorded on phone)”. It was recorded at around 9.45 pm on Tuesday. The phone message reads “Jai Telangana… Jai Jai Telangana… I am dying for Telangana... Don’t trouble my relatives and mother.”
Police said Yadagiri’s father died when he was a child and he was staying with his grandfather and maternal uncle. His mother and brothers live in Erragadda. Yadagiri discontinued his studies after Class VII and worked as a stone-cutter. “Recently, he started learning to drive an auto. We found he used to attend dharnas for Telangana organised by the TD. He made his last call to his sisters who asked him to come home,” police added.
Post-mortem was conducted at Gajwel mortuary and the body was brought to Erragadda. His last rites were performed at PRNagar graveyard in Erragadda. A case was booked under Section 174 CrPC (unnatural death or suspicious death). The case was booked based on a complaint lodged by the local MRO. Police recorded the statements of the persons who saw him hanging from the tree on Wednesday morning. TRS leaders Etela Rajender, Padma Devender Reddy, Ramalinga Reddy and others took part in the last rites.
