Youth keen on flying jobs

To become a pilot is a dream for many youngsters, and making the dream come true is the objective of the Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi, Rae Bareilly, UP, the premier flying training institute in India, which had a stall at the just concluded Aviation Show 2012 at Begumpet Airport, Hyderabad.

The Akademi imparts training to pilots and coast guard and paramilitary personnel. Foreign nationals, too, are currently undergoing training at it. The Akademi is an autonomous body set up under the Ministry of Civil Aviation. It has entered into a management contract with the global aviation giant, CAE, Canada, to provide services with international standards.

The objective of the Akademi is to improve training standards in the civil aviation industry. It has the largest training fleet in India, comprising 25 avionics equipped single-engine aircraft and five simulators. Currently, 224 students are undergoing training at the institute, which admits 125 students every year.
