‘Behind Raja, a maharaja’

The AIADMK on Thursday stepped up pressure on the government by demanding a white paper on the 2G spectrum allocation scam. The party has warned the government that Parliament would not be allowed to function the government did not agree to a joint parliamentary committee probe.

Leader of the AIADMK in the Rajya Sabha V. Maitreyan, while interacting with reporters in the national capital, alleged, “The spectrum mega-scam is no longer confined to A. Raja. According to reports, behind Raja there is a maharaja sitting in Chennai. Probably that is the reason why the PM is silent despite getting censured from the Supreme Court (sic).”
Mr Maitreyan asked, “Why is the Prime Minister silent? His silence is suspicious. Why didn’t he accord sanction to Subramanian Swamy who has been seeking it for two years?” He added, “The PM, in order to dispel all doubt, should release a white paper...”
