‘Bhagwat plot must be probed’
In a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, the RSS has sought for setting up an independent commission to probe an alleged plot to assassinate its chief Mohan Bhagwat and other senior leaders by Col. Srikant Purohit and Dayanand Pandey, both accused in the Malegaon blast case.
The RSS claimed Maharashtra anti-terrorist squad has evidence to prove that Malegaon blast accused were simultaneously plotting to eliminate RSS chief and senior leader Indresh Kumar. The RSS asked how can then it be “bracketed” with the same people, who are conspiring to kill its leaders. The organisation said it sees a “political hand” behind them (Purohit and Pandey) to malign the RSS image. The RSS hopes to get a reply from the Prime Minister and its general secretary Suresh Joshi has sought a meeting with Dr Singh.
