‘BJP councillor’s property sealed’
The MCD on Wednesday sealed the property belonging to a BJP councillor, who is also the chairman of the wards committee for the central zone, for alleged misuse of the properties.
In a statement, the MCD said that the illegally-constructed fourth floor in two properties of Kotla Mubarakpur, belonging to councillor Ravinder Chaudhary, was demolished by the officials of the building department of central zone with the help of police. The remaining floors were sealed as the “property was being misused”.
The two properties were already mentioned in a case, whose hearing is going on before the Lokayukta. Mr Chaudhary, however, denied that the properties belonged to him.
The MCD also undertook demolition action against 16 more properties in various parts of central and south Delhi. Meanwhile, two siblings, Bipin Mishra (17) and his sister Prachi (10) were injured when a chunk of ceiling being demolished in an adjacent flat fell on them. Their father rushed them to AIIMS and the police was informed.
