‘Can bring Lokpal bill in Gujarat’
The BJP on Wednesday said its government in Gujarat will bring in the Lokpal Bill in the state Assembly, provided the Opposition Congress puts its weight behind the move.
“It is possible with the cooperation of the Congress Party,” former BJP president Ranjath Singh said here. He added, “The Lokpal Bill will be passed in Gujarat (Assembly) when the Opposition Congress comes forward.”
He also said that he appreciated the anti-corruption crusade launched by Mr Anna Hazare.
Asked about money power being used to purchase votes in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Mr Rajnath Singh said it was for the Election Commission to deal with the issue.
Mr Singh said the party seeks an amicable solution of the Kashmir imbroglio within the ambit of “insaniyat” and “insaaf.”
