‘Cong RSS attack a diversion’
Terming the just-concluded AICC meeting “bogus”, the main Opposition BJP on Wednesday alleged the meeting failed in giving any direction either to the Congress or to the nation. The party also accused the Congress of diverting public attention from corruption cases under its rule by targeting the RSS.
On the issue of Adarsh Housing Society scam and the two-member panel headed by finance minister Pranab Mukherjee to look into it, BJP national spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain said it was ironical that the task of security has been entrusted to the “agency accused of theft”.
Mr Shahnawaz Hussain said while the Congress is hit with number of corruption charges, its senior leaders steered clear of the issue in the AICC meet and instead chose to attack a “nationalist organisation” like the RSS and its leaders to divert attention.
Asking the Congress president not to remain a “mute spectator” and take action against the guilty, the BJP leader said the party should accept the resignation of Ashok Chavan as the chief minister of Maharashtra.
He said while the Congress leadership claims that “aam admi” is its main concern, at the AICC meet there were two “adarsh” party leaders on the dias, one was Suresh Kalmadi (CWG scam)and other Ashok Chavan (housing society scam).
