‘Evidence enough to nail Saeed’

India on Friday reiterated its disappointment over the Pakistan Supreme Court letting off Jammat-ud-Dawa (JuD) chief Hafiz Saeed saying that the evidence shared with the Pakistan government was sufficient to convict him.

“The Supreme Court of Pakistan has come to certain conclusions on the basis of whatever evidence they have. I dont know what kind of evidence was produced (before the court) but based on the dossiers we have given to Pakistan, our legal experts feel there is certainly enough evidence to prosecute (Saeed) and get (his) conviction, Mr Krishna told a press conference here on Friday.
The minister asserted that the dossiers had contained enough evidence about the role and activities of Saeed in the Mumbai attacks.

Venkaiah, Rudy, Naqvi nominated

May 28: The BJP on Friday re-nominated its leaders Mr Rajiv Pratap Rudy and Mr Venkaiah Naidu for the Rajya Sabha. The party also nominated its national vice- president, Mr Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, to the Upper House from Uttar Pradesh.
While Mr Rudy has been nominated from Bihar, Mr Naidu has been nominated from Karnataka. The party, which announced the list of its candidates for the Rajya Sabha berths on Friday, also nominated its national executive member and treasurer Mr Piyush Goel from Maharashtra. The party nominated its senior leader Mr Ayanur Manjunath from Karnataka and senior party leader Nand Kumar Sai from Chattisgarh.
The party also announced names of its candidates for the state council polls for various states.
