‘Give CM Gogoi another chance’
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday said that there is no other political party which is genuinely concerned for poor, Dalits and Adivasi.
Addressing three elections rallies one after the other, Mr Gandhi said, “Progress and peace are the two things that are necessary for the overall development of a state.
Mr Gogoi has not only brough about development but has also maintained peace. I ask you to give him another chance to complete the remaining development works in the state.”
Mr Gandhi also slammed the Opposition AGP and accused them of pushing the state backward. Pointing out that law and order was at its worse during the AGP tenure, Mr Gandhi said the Congress has worked hard to take the state out from that situation.
“My appeal to the youth of Assam is to give Mr Gogoi another chance so that the pace of development is not hit. The opposition parties do not have any vision or contact with the people, while we work hand in hand with the aam aadmi.”
Mr Gandhi also pointed out that it was the Congress that had launched schemes like NREGA and Sarba Siksha Abhijan for the poor. “Through these welfare schemes we have trying to facilitate resources to the poor,” he said, asking that the people give Mr Gogoi a third chance.
