‘IUML chief involved in KMML scam’
K.A. Rauf, the estranged brother-in-law of Indian Union Muslim League general secretary P.K. Kunhalikutty, has alleged that the leader had a role in the irregularities at the Kerala Metals and Minerals Ltd. and the Travancore Titanium Products.
Addressing a news conference here on Thursday, Mr Rauf said the waste treatment projects at both the companies were handled by a firm, which was only a “cover”.
“The operations for the both the projects were carried out by a Kochi-based individual,” he said.
Mr Rauf said he personally knew what really happened behind the scenes.
To a question, Mr Rauf said he was not aware of Opposition leader Oommen Chandy’s role in the scam.
It was Mr Rauf who ‘revived’ the ice-cream parlous sex racket case two months ago by alleging that Mr Kunhalikutty had bribed witnesses, victims and judges to escape conviction.
On Thursday, he also said there was circumstantial evidence to believe that the death of two girls in 1997 had connections to the ice-cream sex racket case.
“The relative of one of the girls is now staying at a house in Vengara,” he said.
