‘KK to look into portfolio issue’

Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president D. Srinivas on Saturday said that any complaint over portfolio allocation in his home state of Andhra would be looked into by chief minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy at the earliest. During his interaction with the media after his meeting with Congress president Sonia Gandhi, he also refused to give any importance to Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy, the rebel MP-who resigned from the Congress citing humiliation at the hands of the party high command. Union minister Jaipal Reddy too had a lengthy discussion with Mrs Gandhi about party affairs in Andhra.
Mr D. Srinivas, while talking to reporters in the capital, said, “The party high command is seized of the dissatisfaction arising out of the portfolio allocation and very soon, the chief minister will set them right.”
He also added that it was not the intention of the party to put people to discomfort. “This move to allocate ministries that has led to heart-burns was not intentional,” said the leader from Telangana.
When asked what he felt about the move of Jagan to float a regional outfit of his own, Mr Srinivas said dismissively, “Everybody in a democracy has the right to form a political party.”

Dec. 4: The Congress on Sunday expanded its panel of leaders to deal with the media by inducting two more Rajya Sabha MPs Rajiv Shukla and Satyavrat Chaturvedi. Addition of the two leaders has made it a 17-member panel now to present the party case effectively on TV channel discussions.
It is interesting here to note that Mr Chaturvedi was till now debarred from holding media briefings after his controversial remarks against NCP chief Sharad Pawar in March this year. The Congress had on Friday formed a panel of 15 senior leaders who were authorised to participate in debates.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
