10 killed in road collision in MP district
Ten people, some of them women, were killed and as many injured in a road accident in the neighbouring Raisen district, police said on Thursday.
The mishap occurred last night when a tempo collided with a dumper truck under the Mandideep police station area, they said. Six persons died on the spot, while the rest succumbed during treatment in a hospital here.

Court wants Ishrat case given to CBI

June 24: The Gujarat high court on Thursday admitted a petition seeking transfer of the probe into the alleged staged shooting of Ishrat Jahan to the CBI.
A division bench issued notices to the Central government, the Gujarat government and the premier investigation agency and fixed the matter for final hearing on July 14.

MP minister booked in murder case
Gwalior, June 24: Madhya Pradesh health minister Anup Mishra was on Thursday booked on charges of criminal conspiracy and a case against his son and close relatives was registered in connection with the killing of a person in a firing incident involving the minister’s relatives, police said.
His son Ashwin, brothers Ajay Mishra and Abhay Mishra, cousin Deepak Vajpayee, brother-in-law Yogesh Sharma were booked in murder and other sections of IPC. —PTI

Cabinet gives approval for 107 new KVs

June 24: The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs on Thursday approved a proposal for setting up of 107 new Kendriya Vidyalayas. The new KVs are expected to cater to about 1.03 lakh students across the country.
The total financial requirement for construction and operations of these new KVs is Rs 526.99 crore. The proposal will entail further spending of Rs 279.48 crore.
