12 to be framed in Onchiyam murder case
The special investigation team (SIT) is likely to frame charge sheet against 12 persons in the murder of RMP leader T.P. Chandrasekharan.
The conspiracy behind the murder is being unraveled, police said.
Unconfirmed reports on Thursday said the police detained five more persons. However, SIT refused to comment on the detentions or on the preparation of the charge sheet.
In another development, SIT found a fake cheque, allegedly handed over by prime suspect Rafeek to hire the Innova car used by the accused to travel on the day of the attack.
Investigators identified the signatures of Rafeek in the cheque and in the stamp paper that was used as an agreement to rent the car, sources said.
An amount of Rs 32,000 had been fixed for hiring the Innova car.
