13 trains from Delhi cancelled, 25 diverted
Thirteen trains originating from Delhi were cancelled on Sunday in the wake of the accident of the Kalka Mail at Malwa in UP. Also 25 trains were diverted from their original route as the railway traffic was affected following the train accident. The Northern Railways said that a number of trains were either
cancelled or diverted due to derailment of Howrah-Kalka Mail at Malwa on Allahabad-Kanpur section of North Central Railway.
Among the 13 trains which were cancelled included Allahabad-Meerut City Sangam Express, Allahabad-Dehra Dun Link Express and Dehra Dun-Allahabad Link Express. Even Meerut City-Allahabad Sangam Express scheduled to leave on Monday will remain cancelled, the Northern Railways stated.
Further, Anand Vihar-Sita Marhi Lichvi Express, Delhi-Howrah Janta Express, New Delhi-Howrah Yuva Express, Delhi-Kolkata Lal Quila Express, New Delhi-Allahabad Prayagraj Express, New Delhi-Darbhanga Swatantrata Sainani Express and New Delhi-Allahabad Duronto Express have been cancelled on Sunday, the Northern Railways said in a statement.
It further informed that 25 trains were diverted which included Howrah-Jodhpur Express, Sealdah-Ajmer Express, Guwahati-Barmer Express, which would run via Allahabad-Unchahar-Lucknow-Kanpur section
A special train carrying relatives of the affected passengers will run from New Delhi railway station at 9 pm on Sunday via Delhi for their help, added the Northern Railways.
