15 dead in Philippines hotel fire
Manila: Fifteen people were killed on Sunday when a fire razed a budget hotel in a northern Philippine city, a provincial police chief said.
Senior Superintendent Mao Aplasca said rescuers had recovered all fatalities from the gutted Bed and Breakfast Pension House in Tuguegarao City in Cagayan province, 355 km north of Manila.
"We have accounted for all the guests of the hotel," he said. "We have recovered all the bodies of the victims."
Twelve other people were injured in the predawn fire that started in a motorcycle shop on the ground floor of the five-storey hotel, Aplasca said.
