150 die as big quake hits Pak, tremors in Delhi too
Over 150 people were killed and dozens injured as a powerful 7.8-magnitude earthquake hit Pakistan’s Balochistan and Sindh provinces Tuesday. It impacted a number of cities, including Karachi‚ Hyderabad‚ Quetta and Kalat, rescue officials said.
The tremors were felt as far afield as New Delhi and Dubai.
The epicentre was 120 km from Khuzdar. People came out from their homes, offices and buildings in panic.
The worst affected was Balochistan’s Awaran district, where 45 people were killed. An official said 150 deaths had so far been confirmed by hospitals and rescue workers.
